The longer things are left unattended, the more they have a tendency to pile up. Sounds obvious, I know, however....
Confession Number Three: I don’t go longer than a few days without reviewing my systems.
Just in case you skipped over it, I’ll say it again: In reality, the longer things are left unattended, the more they have a tendency to pile up.
This means that even when life seems full to the brim, I still flip through the pile of paperwork in my office, have a quick check on the mail, see what’s in the “Communication Tray” and jot things down on the shopping list. When life is busy it occurs with less frequency, however more often than not; the systems in place are checked daily.
When life’s a little less hectic however, we use the following system, which is proved to be so effective it takes very little maintenance or time to do.
Dr DeClutter believes you can save yourself a lot of time and money if you learn the following simple but highly effective key:
Pay regular attention to your systems.
The more consistent you are with actioning your systems, the more they will support you. If you need help personalising your own system, Dr DeClutter's here to help.
In the meantime, here’s a number of options for storage racks from your local Officeworks as there’s bound to be one that suits your individual needs http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Office-Supplies/Desktop-Filing/Document-Racks
A quick question for today: What’s one simple organising system you’d like to set up today? Please post your answers, as we’d love to hear from you.
Next week you’ll hear the final Confession of a Professional Organiser (for now) and we’ll also give you an example of what happened when Dr DeClutter was asked to help an entire family get organised.
In the meantime remember with Dr DeClutter: Organising Simply Is Our Business
